The City actively supports mobile trading to help sustain and grow local businesses to benefit the local community.
Before trading, mobile food businesses must be registered with the City of Karratha, or with any other local authority in WA. In addition to the registration, mobile food traders must also obtain a permit to trade in a public place.
Once your business has a permit, there are 15 potential locations across the City of Karratha for your business to trade from.

Trading times
Trading times at these locations are split into day permits (running from 5am to 5pm) and night permits (valid from 5pm to 10pm).
Once you have a mobile trading permit, you can access the online roster system to confirm your scheduled location and time. Mobile trading schedules are available up to one month in advance.

Getting a mobile trading permit
The City can help you secure your mobile trading permit; we are responsible for issuing permits and schedules to mobile traders.
Download the Stallholder and Street Traders Policy (below) to learn about your rights and responsibilities as a mobile trader.
Complete the Application for Stallholder/Traders Permit and return it to the City, along with a copy of your current public liability insurance certificate.
An environmental health officer will contact you to discuss and progress your application.
Once your business has passed an inspection, rectified any issues identified in the inspection, and paid the registration fee, the City will send you a certificate of registration.
