This initiative is an opportunity for residents to prepare their yard ahead of cyclone season and remove potential hazardous green waste.
From 22 September, pre-cyclone season verge side collection will be conducted in a staggered approach across our five towns over three weeks.
All green waste to be placed on verge side no earlier than two weeks prior and no later than the day before collection service starts.
Green waste that is collected, is reused and processed into mulch and soil conditioner.
Residents can see below for green waste verge placement and collection dates.
Town | When to have your green waste on your verge | Collection date |
Bulgarra, Karratha CBD, Millars Well & Pegs Creek | 8 to 21 September | 22 September |
Baynton, Baynton West, Madigan Estate, Nickol, Nickol West & Tambrey | 15 to 28 September | 29 September |
Cheeditha, Dampier, Point Samson, Roebourne & Wickham | 22 September to 5 October | 6 October |
Residents are urged to keep clear space between your collection pile and any fences, water meters, power poles, vehicles and trailers, letter boxes, Telstra pits, driveways and garden beds.
