Freedom of information

Freedom of Information gives the public the right to access documents, subject to limitations, held by state and local government organisations. The Freedom of Information Act 1992 provides the legislative basis for all Freedom of Information access applications.

Read the Information Statement for guidance on the information that is freely available to the public, information that is available for a fee, and information that may be accessible via the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act.

The information statement also details the FOI procedures, charges, deadlines, and review options available to those making FOI applications.

Documents that could be accessible under the FOI Act include paper and electronic records, plans and drawings, photographs, CCTV footage.

You can also apply to have information about yourself amended, if that information is incomplete, inaccurate, out of date or misleading.

Submit a Freedom of Information Act - Application Form to start an FOI request.
