The City recognises the positive impact mobile traders have on our economy and actively supports the diversity they bring to our community.
The City manages mobile trading through our Stallholder and Street Traders Policy which aims to sustain and grow local businesses in a way that benefits the local community and provide safe temporary trading environments for the community.
It also provides guidance and direction on the location and management of mobile traders in the district.
Before trading, mobile food businesses must be registered with the City of Karratha, or with any other local authority in WA. In addition to the registration, mobile food traders must also obtain a permit to trade in a public place.
The City are seeking feedback from operators of both fixed and mobile vendors and the local community to ensure the policy is fair to all.
As part of the consultation process, the City has created a survey for community members and stakeholders to provide feedback on the current policy.
This is the first round of consultation and your feedback will inform the policy review process.
A revised policy will be presented to council with further consultation undertaken at that time.
The survey will close on Wednesday 12 June 2024.
