Karratha’s sporting stars, officials, volunteers, and coaches were celebrated for their hard work and dedication and community spirit.
The annual City of Karratha Community Sports Awards were held on Friday 27 October at the Red Earth Arts Precinct celebrating local clubs and codes.
Presented by the City of Karratha, the awards recognise players, coaches, officials and volunteers who have made a significant contribution to their sporting code and was this year hosted by Anthony Wear.
City of Karratha Mayor Daniel Scott said sporting clubs are more than just a place to participate in sport but also contribute to liveability.
“Playing sport in Karratha is somewhere people go to foster community, mateship and a sense of belonging and thrive due to the people on the field and behind the scenes. The diverse range of people that make up our sporting community contributes to the City being a more liveable place,” Cr Scott said.
“Congratulations to all winners and nominees of this year’s awards and thank you to the sponsors of the event and each award.”
