The City of Karratha has been honoured with an award for improved work practices and employee engagement.
The Xref Engage 2024 Change Champion Award celebrates organisations that showed exceptional improvements in their work practices and outcomes between engagement surveys.
To qualify, an organisation must complete a follow-up engagement survey with at least 30 benchmarkable questions and achieve a response rate greater than 50 per cent.
Winners are selected from three categories, with the change in percentage of favourable employee responses adjusted for organisation size.
The City was one of eight employers Australia-wide that were recognised in the Large Employer Category after achieving an 8.63 per cent improvement between its 2023 and 2024 staff surveys.
City of Karratha Chief Executive Virginia Miltrup said this was an outstanding result for the City.
“This award demonstrates significant improvements in employee engagement over the past 12 months,” Ms Miltrup said.
“Only a few organisations meet the Change Champion criteria, and it is a difficult award to win.
“We are committed to continuously improving, and I’d like to thank all staff for providing their honest feedback and for working together to create a great place to work.”
