City to sponsor 2023 Pilbara Summit

The City of Karratha to sponsor the upcoming Pilbara Summit Conference to promote opportunities for Karratha and the Pilbara’s growth and prosperity.

The Pilbara Summit is an annual event established in 2018 to raise the profile of the specific issues and opportunities in the Pilbara region.

Originally held in Perth for three years, it was moved to Karratha in 2022 with more than 600 delegates attending the sold out conference.

The City approved a motion at the last council meeting to provide $20,000 in sponsorship for the upcoming Summit as part of the Major Event Sponsorship and Attraction Program.

This year’s Summit will held at the Red Earth Arts Precinct on 10-11 October and discuss several topics vital to the region including how the Pilbara can become a clean energy powerhouse, strategic security in the North West and Aboriginal economic development.

City of Karratha Deputy Mayor Kelly Nunn said the Pilbara Summit is an opportunity to bring the Pilbara’s senior industry, business, community and government representatives together to discuss the issues facing our the region. 

“We are proud to sponsor the upcoming Pilbara Summit and raise the profile of the specific issues and opportunities in the Pilbara region,” Cr Nunn said.

“This provides an opportunity for delegates to come to Karratha and explore important issues vital to our region.

“The City sponsored the event last year and I am excited to see the discussions and ideas that arise from this years event.”
