Entries are open for the 31st Cossack Art Awards.
Artists young and old are encouraged to enter their works into the prestigious Cossack Art Awards.
The Cossack Art Awards is one of the premier arts and cultural events in the Pilbara as a nationally significant art prize.
Entries for the highly anticipated event are now open with a maximum of 300 submissions available.
This year there are 10 categories including Best Overall Artwork, Best Artwork by a Pilbara Artist and the People's Choice with more than $89,000 in total prize money awarded.
Other categories include North West Flora and Fauna, Painting by Pilbara Indigenous Artist and Emerging Young Artist (16-25 years).
There will also be a Cossack Children's Art Awards with entries opening early April, for 200 available submissions.
Winners will be announced at the Gala Awards night which will be held at 6.30pm Saturday 22 July.
Entries for the awards close on June 6.
City of Karratha Mayor Peter Long called on artists Australia wide to enter their submissions.
"The Cossack Art Awards is one of the premier arts and cultural events in our region and is a prestigious event in the wider arts community," Cr Long said.
"Every year we receive a wide range of works from incredibly talented creatives and I encourage our talented local artists and those across the nation to enter.
"The Cossack Art Awards are a unique and diverse event, and I cannot wait to see all the fantastic entries."
Rio Tinto have been long term supporters of the exhibition and continue to do so as Principal Partner for 2023.
