Karratha’s best gardens have been revealed with the winners of the Ready Set Grow competition announced.
The Ready Set Grow competition was introduced in 2020 to increase aware and community participation in crime prevention and community safety initiatives.
This year’s contest saw 35 entries across five categories including; Mayor’s Best Overall Garden Best use of Small Space, and Waterwise Garden.
Ray Byran was announced as the winner of the Mayor’s Best Overall Garden and the overall winner of the Ready Set Grow competition.
The Judges described the winner as a beautiful recreation garden with lots of colour and texture as well as having a clever use of ornamentals and water features.
Among other winners was Glen See for Best Waterwise Garden for her natural and fee flowing native garden, while Kirsten Williams’ lovely and safe child friendly front and back yard was named Best Kid Friendly Garden.
This year’s Ready Set Grow Garden Competition was supported by Rio Tinto, Woodside Energy and Water Corporation.
